On 2026, the skyline of Monterrey BBVA Stadium changed forever. “Pasión Mundial” was unveiled as the official symbol of Monterrey as a host city for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This work is represented by five ecroches, five human figures, representing everyone, regardless of race, social standing, or labels, paying homage to the anatomy of soccer players in particular. These figures, in positions that reflect the energy and emotion of the game, stand on a wave that symbolizes the passion that drives us, that unites us beyond ideologies. We are simply all united by the same passion that ignites the world every four years.
Each athlete holds a ball; each ball in this work is not just an object. Without a ball, there is no game; the ball represents the emotion of a moment, that instant that will endure in our collective memory.
